No, the baby actually passes some kind of a blob that was sealing the anus well after birth. It's a clear dark brown kind of deal before the baby starts to pass more normal baby poops.

If this seal is broken before delivery in the womb, it can cause debris to enter the baby's lungs and cause infections or worse.

You'll need to look it up, as I forget the terms as it was a good 7 months or so ago.
