At this point i strongly believe that United States represent the biggest threat to the world because they are doing what want and no one can control them, I hope Bush got defeated in the next election so maybe someone rational take and guide the most powerful country for a better way.

He he, that's alright. I may be in Mensa, but you wouldn't know it from my chess rating. We all have strong and weak points. I'm fairly good at flying off the handle. πŸ˜€

I saw this in a Reuters story on Yahoo news:

' "Ideally, we would kill them all," Col. Joseph Anderson, a brigade commander of the 101st Airborne Division, told Reuters. "But if they choose to change their mind and flee, there's not much we can do." '

I think this guy missed media training. Even though he was talking about Fedayeen paramilitary fighters loyal to Saddam, and even though the statement is probably true, it's not the sort of thing one should say to a reporter.

How much support would the war have if it were pitched as: "hopefully we will be able to kill everyone loyal to Saddam", instead of "hopefully everyone loyal to Saddam will surrender"?

Safe At Home With God
No more the clarion call of battle for me
I am safe at home at last
I do not hear the exploding bombs
Or the bullets whizzing past
No more sounds of flashing guns
No more missiles streaming by
Or hearing the screams of mother's sons
As they prepare to die

I am safe at home with God mom
It's where I want to be
I heard the flutter of Angel's wings
And a soft voice calling me
"It's time for you to come home, Mike
God's love has set you free!"

I'm safe at home with God mom
No more pain and fear
And no matter where you are
You'll always feel me near
Now you can be at peace mom
Because you know I'm here

So do not weep for me
And keep your faith steadfast
Know that I am happy now
for I'm at Home With God at last

At least he's not hiding the fact that he's a trigger happy homocidal maniac! Direct some 'friendly fire'- sorry, US fire in his direction!

Barking at the wrong tree
The real enemy is Bin-Laden and the Saudis who financed him and similar groups. Attacking Iraq and even toppling the Saddam regime will achieve nothing. Who will rule Iraq after the war? So many factions. Whichever will be chosen to rule by the Americans, will not be acceptable to other Iraqi groups of dissidents. The war is probably won by now, but the uprisings against the American "liberators" can turn Iraq into a new Somalia. The war will bring about hundreds of new Bin-Ladens. Bush has morons as advisors. He will not be reelected. The best thing for the USA is to get the hell out of Iraq, and head soutwards to Saudia. The Wahabites there are the cause for all this troubles. And to say the Clinton supported Moslems in Kosovo against Serbs. Now he sees how much good Moslems bring to the USA.

Thank you for the refreshing insight. πŸ™‚
I must say, I do not find it conducive to fighting terrorism by pissing off half the world.
