It all depends how your life has been earlier... πŸ™‚ No more practical responsibilities for five dear grandchildren (all grown up) and my sweet great-granddaughter it opens possibilities, and I can always refer to old age when I feel like it.
LOL....It is kind of fun having the young men and women hold doors open for me. Hell they even say excuse me something I rarely hear the young people say these days. I have even been called Sir!.....LOL... Like you said can always use the age for most excuses about things!

When I first learned computer programming, Basic, COBOL, and Fortran were coded on punch cards. Now, I get my daughter, aged 20, to show me all the new features whenever my iPhone updates itself.

You learned computer programming and now get help from your daughter, amazing how quickly technology progresses!!!

I have a daughter old enough to be your daughter's mother. πŸ™‚

It's a great time in our lives as long as we are physically able to do some of the things we like - taking walks, going on holidays, having friends home for dinner or dine out. I like it very much. πŸ™‚ And yes, young people offer me a seat in trams and buses.

I don't have to use the bus as I have my own vehicle so far. We don't have trams here. I am not as active as I once was due to medical issues, I'd sooner not talk about in the public forums.

We still enjoy life in different ways, when I focus on what I can do and try to put in perspective the things I can't do any more, I feel good and grateful.

With my past medical conditions I am happy to just wake up each day. I take a day at a time and don't put things off anymore. I do what I can do that day without pushing it. Being retired of course does give us extra time to do things we wouldn't normally have time for.

EDIT: Keeping a positive attitude no matter what happens is so important.

Indeed. She was a newer model and as it turned out, very complicated, so I “returned” her for a “used” one.

Same here 20 years, but it was semi-retired for the first 5. There are times now I am more busy than when I worked. πŸ™‚

I was in my mid 40s when I began my “dynasty” and much later became a grandfather. In both instances they my progeny have kept me young…ish. Ya gotta keep active or the parts start to atrophy.πŸ˜²πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
