Don't forget, this is a chess site, and these are internet message boards.
Things said in jest are often taken too serious. While things spoken in earnest are often shugged off.

Your thoughts?
quite possibly. sometimes, without the benefit of the emotional cues we usually get in face-to-face or even voice communication, the tone of a post can be misconstrued. i guess that's what smileys are for.😉

i'm a weekend psycho. we're kind of looked down upon by the mainstream psycho community, who feel that we lack commitment to the lifestyle.

I think there is no such thing as being too "thin-skinned". There IS however, such a thing as rudeness, being discourteous, bullying, thoughtlessness, and sociopathic people who can't feel any form of empathy for mother human beings. And they are on these forums in great abundance.

I think it's a two way street.

The reference to "mother" was interesting.
Let's leave moms out of this please. 😳

Believe the question begging to be explored is why some people's children become thin skinned.

Could it be cousins marrying cousins? Not that there's anything wrong with that of course.

i like to take a less jaundiced view. i think it's reasonable to believe that any regular poster in this forum - without exception - would stop to help someone who, say collapsed in the street, would administer first aid to the best of their ability and call an abulance if necessary. as opposed to a sociopath, who would be more likely to rifle the poor guy's wallet and scoot.

you're right... apply first aid, call for an ambulance and then steal their wallet.
