Simplicity at its very irreducible essence may well be the most complicated, mind boggling phenomena/human perception possibility of all.

Believe we often embellish things (not unlike chess move or romantic relationship decisions) as a matter of convenience and accomodation.

Quite sure we become indecisive and clumsy when things blur and we go temporarily blind. Submit that your phrase is valid by definition.
