You're not looking at the right places.
Take a good hard look at the ground when you are there.
Get down on your hands and knees...brush the leaves aside...you will find all kinds of cool stuff to look at.
Trees are cool to look at, their bark has intricate designs, their leaves are perfectly made to absorb solar radiation and carbon dioxide. These are amazing things!
When we went last time I just could not believe how many daddy long legs there were. Lots of frogs. A skunk getting into my uncleaned pans 😞. We go to a couple of different places but I prefer the state parks. Where do you guys go?

There are organized campgrounds around that we go to for water, but we generally camp on our own. That way we can take the dog and let her run wild, she generally brings back little rodents she has killed. 😕
