I assume that they won't give a thumbs up to the thief...

The reasoning (of my hypothetical thumb-downer) goes thus: Woodgirl reports her purse stolen, I resent that, so I give a thumb down. Would I give a thumb up I would say: Well done thief.
Edit: That is if people ask you a question and give the negation in the same course:
It was fine, wasn't it? (A "Yes" is ambigious)
@fmf saidI am a supporter of thumbs being anonymous. I am not a supporter of anonymour retribution.
It's supposedly anonymous retribution from "the community". Ask Ponderable. He's a adamant supporter of this aspect of the website.
And I assume you know when I am not agreeing with you.
