what a numbnuts. it's a friendly.

Yes, Brazil and France are playing an international friendly match on
Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
While not part of the official World Cup tournament (which takes place later),
this match serves as a high-profile preparation game ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Key Details:
Acftually you placed your post without the refernec in the World Cup thread, so the assumption that you wrote about world cup was not dumb.

Looks like the team from Iran won't be able to take part...

I have just learned that Italy won't be taking part. It is quite astonishing, that they missed repeatedly.

Yes, Italy have now failed to qualify for the last three World Cup competitions despite a win at Euro 2020 (which in my honest opinion England should have won if not for Southgate’s poor tactics); systemic challenges in the domestic game are blamed.

England have similar problems however our domestic game standard is propped up by the influx of top level foreign talent attracted to the lucrative deals.

I think Gianni Infantino is at it, talking to the FIFA peace prize recipient about it.

Less than 50 days now.

I have heard a lot about pricing and to my surprise that most tickets seem to have been sold.

Prices are high because Americans will pay it. That is one reason why FIFA likes having the World Cup in the US

The other reason is: The last time the US hosted the WC, they broke the mark for attendance.

I’ll be watching the games for free; either at home or down the pub.
