And here's the s-word:
semiopathy
the tendency to read humorously inappropriate meanings into signs. One anecdote is about the literary critic Terry Eagleton (1943 - ). He saw a sign next to an escalator reading "Dogs Must Be Carried." Since he wanted to go upstairs, he went off to find a dog. Other fine examples are "Slow Children Crossing" and "The Door Is Alarmed." The word seems to have been coined by the editors of the "Feedback" section of New Scientist magazine.
"There's been talk that Andy Roddick's lost his mojo. Well, if that's the case, then who's this handsome devil in the cowboy hat?" *smiles at camara*
"I was talking to Andy this morning, and he said, 'Mojo, I'll see you at practice bright and early tomorrow.' I said, 'Yes you will! ... 'bout eleven, eleven thirty..." He said, 'Mojo! No! Redemption does not hit the snooze button!' The guy's my hero..." *wipes tear from eye*
