Here's a related joke which may or may not be offensive:

Q: What's the worst part about rollerblading?
A: Having to tell your parents you're gay.

One of my ex-girlfriends got me into rollerblading with her a few years back. There are hundreds of miles of wide paved sidewalks here used as rollerblade and bicycle trails, so it isn't that unusual to see a guy out there doing it. I met another girl last year while she was putting on her rollerblades, and it was something we did together a lot.
I dunno, I wouldn't consider it "gay". Where the hell did that stereotype come from anyway -- fat, lazy country bumpkins??

I know what you meant. I also know that was an unnecessary and inflammatory question without basis or justification. You know nothing about me, my relationships or my prejudices and I resent you even attempting to ask that question.

I ...[text shortened]... have no right whatsoever to judge me, either seriously or in jest.
What is judgemental about asking a question?

If I had assumed you homerphobic, that would be judgemental.

... asking me if I'm homophobic isn't judgemental? Homophobia isn't simply a dislike of the gay lifestyle, it's an almost irrational fear or hatred of homosexual people in general. Did I say something that made you think I hated homosexuals to the point of being unbalanced?

If you thought I was being sarcastic, you could have asked if I was being sarcastic. As it happens, I'm not. I'm very proud of the fact that Canada is a socially sensitive country.

However, I consider words like "homophobic" and "racist" and "sexist" to be argumentative and inflammatory terms that are too often used inappropriately to exhaggerate the personal beliefs of individuals.

I've got nothing against you personally, Edwin. I just don't like the term, and I really don't like it being suggested that it might apply to me. I'd put it in the same category as calling me racist, and you have no idea how ballistic I would go if you did that. Peace.

Good that you are proud of Canada.

In general most people consider homophobic to cover ANY dislike of homosexuals.

How was I to know you considerd it to be on the same rank as raceist.

Well, I'm not gay so I can't speak for their understanding of the term as a social group, but as far as I know any type of "phobia" is defined by an irrational fear or hatred.

Maybe the term has acquired a more general use, but if so, I would suggest that use is inaccurate.

I'd say phobias are the natural condition of mankind. We fear what we don't understand, we hate what we fear. It takes self-confidence and intellectual reasoning to move beyond it. Some of us, unfortunately, are stuck in animal/instinctual mode. It's the lazy way out.

also, the straight women that hang off these supergays like flies are even worse.
LOL....you knew I was lurking here somewhere, didn't you? I agree with you 100%. I've nothing personal against Gays either, but when they parade around in baby diapers, leather thongs, Village People attire with their @$$ cheeks hanging out, I want to vomit...and, before anybody accuses me of be homophobic, I'd be just as disgusted if straight men did the same thing. I've had gay friends in the past who felt the same way about "outspoken" Gay Pride Parades...I say have the parade, but cover your @$$ and B@lls...😛
