Mussina went the distance, but it looked like the Tigers wouldn't have been able to hit a ball balanced on a seal's nose so far off target were their swings.
It has been reliably reported that the penny pinching Tigers have rented biplanes last used to shoot down a 60 foot ape off the Empire State Building and are using them to seed the cloud/smog cover in Detroit in an attempt to get enough rain so that tonight's game is postponed. Verlander is due to pitch and I'm sure that Tiger management doesn't want to see his fragile ego destroyed by the mighty Yankee bats.
