b) What is the difference to someone leaving the site voluntarily and the opponent claiming the win and the points.
Also I would be really gutted if I had just resigned to one of the players and taken the negative points

OK, I know it's not going to happen, but I wanted to rant a bit. I knew instinctively in the two games we were playing, that he wasn't the 1300 player he was when we started the games - I wasn't surprised to see his rating climb, nor am I surprised with his banning....
