I accidentally poured red wine over my laptop last night. The screen now appears not to be backlit. If I squint at the screen, I can see Windows loading up as normal and everything else seems to be okay.
Half the screen is slightly more visible than the other half.
Does this sounds like I need a new screen? Or a new laptop? Or something cheaper?
Also apologies to everyone I am playing. I refuse to move at work since not doing so has improved my game quite substantially. So expect delays...

Oh ha ha everyone. Ha ha.
I have 36 games waiting (a personal record) but am still resisting the temptation to play at work.
I am hoping when I get home my laptop will have slept it off.
Anyways, since you're talking about the back light, maybe you can try adjusting it so it works better or upping something like the contrast or something. Although, it would be a wise idea to get someone to come in and take a look at it. (That is if it doesn't banter on drunkenly like some drunk Irishman. 😉 )

I spilt coffee (two sugars - I know bad bad bad) all over my Intellistation Z-Pro today.
Luckily - iit doesn't belong to me, it's works!
Unluckily, I'm the Technician so I have to fix it.
Boo.
Anyways, I hope it wasn't too bad. I usually keep most beverages of any sort away from my laptop and my iPAQ for that matter. Matter of fact, I think I almost lost my palm it when I put down my bag a few weeks ago. The screen was blank and when I picked it up, it was quite warm. All worrying signs! I made attempst to recarge it, but it wouldn't come on. So I decided to have a look at the battery. It turns out that the battery popped off it's contacts. So I fixed it and now I have it back again. That was actually kinda scary. I'm so glad something serious didn't happen to it. It was just "knocked unconcious." 😉
