Thank you brother edwin for bring that game up.lol
I started out so strong and then just forgot what I was doing.
I wish to thank grayeyesofsorrow, and will now go back to playing chess at my full potential. I will no longer hold back or ...[text shortened]... watchers can have something to look at. (wink)
Regards
Nyxie
Why did you say that you will no longer hold back? What exactly stopped you from playing at your full potential before? Why would you play for draws? So now... as a result of grayeyes' post you have suddendly decided to play chess properly because you think people all believe that you don't use fritz... what the hell?
Originally posted by hopscotchWas wondering that myself a few months ago when this thread was first brought up, but never got around to making the post I guess. Worth asking though.

Just getting above 1600 seems bad enough, but God help us all if I actually beat someone rated above 1800. It's like I broke some cardinal rule. Forgot to pay my dues at the gentlemen's club. What's the deal with you people?
If I beat you or your friends, and you get mad and say "cheater" more f'ing power to you. I hold most of you in the lowest regard anyway. I just thinks it's disgusting that it comes to that here.
I have seen good people chased off of chess sites over crap like this. You wanna play me? I'll do my best to tear you a new one. If you don't like it run my games through an engine, they'll tell you the same thing that grey eyes said. Don't like me? Start a petition to get me banned. Kick me from the site, I don't really care if I fit in your clique anymore.
But do not slander my name ever again.
This is'nt directed at hopscotch specifically but to all of my adoring fans.

Um, I think you misunderstand.
GreyEyes was defending Nyxie.
Well this time I'll tell you, one of them was named ringtailhunter, he used to go by rapella7 here but for some reason had to change his name. The other one who seems to believe I'm not capable of winning is a friend of his, and a mod so I'm not at liberty to put that name down here for fear of being censored.
Originally posted by NyxieI really don't see how anyone who gets over 1600 could be considered a cheater....We all have cute wins over high-rated players where the planets aligned just right and we were able to re-arrange a few pieces while our opponent was tying their shoe or something, and somewhere near 500 players on this site are over 1600.... I would think whoever is accusing you is most likely just doing it out of dislike for you, not because they actually think you're cheating. That's just a psychological guess though, I really don't know who these accusers are or where they're getting their info from. I certainly hope none of them are studying for their law degrees though.

No they want to know who accused me.

Maybe more than one or two people would relish the chance to wipe the floor in a game with your accuser!!! mod or no mod! no-one is exempt.

The hints at the rating, the questions aimed my way, it just gets to be too much after a while. If I'm to get better I can't be sitting around in fear of this.
So anyone else got any problems with me or my rating? I would suggest now as the time to speak up, or shut your darn mouth. I'm calling you out right now to bring whatever proof it is you think you have before me.
Originally posted by NyxieYou should know that I don't have any problem with you or your rating... but also know that I haven't really had a good look at your games I'm afraid. I came accross the mallys7 game that you resigned as I'm also playing him/her at the moment.

I have absolutely no idea whatsoever as to how to even begin to find out if someone uses an engine. I took issue with the fact that it seems, from your comments, that you weren't playing as well as you could have... which I consider to be incredibly deceptive. I always play my best, and I lose my best, and I win my best, I make no excuses and I expect the same from my opponents.
Originally posted by hopscotchI was told that it was suspicious that I could draw against 1800+ rated people. If I stayed in that tournament I'd have met against more 1800+ rated people.

That's your answer. You can call that deceptive if you want but it's hard to play on a site where winning and playing to your potential is considered cheating.
Make of that whatever you will.
One thing's for sure about people who accuse others of cheating: they themselves use chess-programs.
Another thing about them: they are emotional about losing. (Losing can be beautiful in my opinion, I enjoy lost games often more than my won ones.)
And another thing about them: they check, during the game probably, whether the opponent might be using a chess-program, otherwise their accusation is meaningless. I can't imagine them waiting until the game is over and then start figuring out whether or not the other person used the same program, all that energy, for what?
My humble conclusion: Accusers are most likely to be cheaters themselves.
Everyone should just shut up (about that) and play chess. And what if, what if indeed your opponent is using an engine?
Big deal. All the more fun when you beat him/her. No harm done when you lose. A draw could be viewed as a victory. Be silent and enjoy, where's the fun in being a sore loser?
Just my point of view.
I once was accused of this: 'I think you used software', got pissed off and wrote a long reply, which I regretted a little later, when I thought I should have simply answered: 'You obviously didn't.'
Oh well. I resigned a game today. I like to think I played Gary himself.

Nobody has the right to try and chase you or anyone off RHP.
there are some trouble makers here, but there are also many more very fine people.
Alas, sorting the wheat from the chaff is sometimes a painful process.
Keep playing your best, and all strength to your pawns.
