Not necessarily. Just think. Thinking too short could be another cause of a bad move. No giving up of the tantrum required. Just a break from it when you approach the board.

Premise: Emotion has no capacity for rational thought and reacts. Thought responds. Any point in time the two systems are mutually exclusive.

Take lost chess games for example... all ultimately lost due to short sightedness; or bad decisions from a position of weakness... usually

caused by short fused bursts of temper and emotions dominating rational intellect; or death itself... always caused by shortness of breath.

😀
Or take vendettas, for example. No doubt they originate from someone feeling they've gotten the short shrift at some time in the past.

Try slowing down and using a standard chess set (you know, with real pieces) to anaylize your moves, print out a copy of the board position as a reference, don't just stare at the computer screen...then see a psychologist about your emotional problems! 😏

Interesting suggestion, Bill. With all complicated positions I have been setting up my board for the past year. 3-D is better than a 2-D screen.

Short? Yes, admittedly so. Nothing wrong with that.

Too short? Nope, I'm just right, my legs reach the ground.

I think the important thing here is that your feet are touching the ground. 😉
