We're going to America for the first time, and we're going to be staying west of Jersey city.

What things do you suggest do while we're there? What are the top 10 "things to do" in New York?

Statue of Liberty
Washington Square park for some chess
Empire State building
The planetarium
The MET (Museum)
Times Square
Central Park (In the daytime)
Coney island for carnival stuff etc.
In New Jersey go to Atlantic city for some casino gambling.

Just nine ideas off the top of my head, for a detailed program guide I charge 45 cents.

Grew up 25 mins. north of Jersey City. Get downtown in the Soho district. (nyc)Checkout all the avantegarde art displays. Fine pubs and top shelf dinning. A little pricey but well worth the visit.

This link should quickly put you and your wife in the picture, Huck, and simplify your planning and itinerary decisions:

There is the Regis & Kelly morning talk show.

My friends tell me there is a good view of Niagra falls from the New York side.

I have to see for myself one of these years.

Perhaps I misread the front end plural in the op and formed the impression that

both Mr & Mrs Huckleberry were crossing the pond. Maybe Huck's travelling alone

or will have a mouse in his pocket (as Lenny did in several of Steinbeck's novels).
