Just to let everyone know how a Correspondance tourney works.
Basically the same as you regular games.
You can use books, databases, basically anything played beforehand
for ideas and help through the opening and endgames.
You CANNOT use a "playing program" such as Fritz, Hiarcs,
Chessmaster, etc....I am sure most of you know this...just wanted to
remind everyone.
The one exception is (can't remember if Gil mentioned this) that if a
draw is offered you need to ask your captain whether to accept or play
on...also if you think you should offer a draw...ask your captain to
check and go with his decision. This the only help we can offer when it
come to individual games...other than T.O. things and rules. Also if a
player claims a draw by three fold rep...contact us and we will check it.
The program here does not catch that. If so..it will be a draw..no
questions asked. We are playing under International rules.
So everybody get ready for Wednesday! It is going to be alot of fun.
