I would love to join the tourney...but, it wont be this time!! I am a
decent player...regardless of my rating. I have been playing my girl;
you know the score!! I haven't had much access online...but i move
when i can; personal reasons!! I will play in the next one...i play d4
openings for white, and counters for e4 in black. Next time!! caro,
sicilian...you know the score for black!! Four pawns, three pawns,
stonewall, for white; they are but a few though!! Pawn chains,
outposts, skewers, pins, zugzwang, forks...let rip the dogs of war!!
Can i say something...i didn't like xenophobe...but, he was a good
player, regardless of wether he used a puter, or natural skill. He knew
what he was talking about!! He had the mental knowldege to
understand the game...and if anyone read him, you would have know
that. It is a shame he was beaten from here...i personally would like
to see him back...i want to play him...we still have our two sicilain
dragon games to play!! I hated the guy...but, he could play chess...he
knew the rules...even though he was arogant!! We have lost a good
player there...forever!!

I don't remember him being "beaten" from the site. He obviously
made some people very angry...that was his choice to do. I am sure
he is still here under another nick.
But he still attained the highest rating ever on RHP which was 1933 if I
am not mistaken...although Gil has a good shot at taking that record.

I'm not sure what you meant by "that". I just had to stick my two
cents in. Xeno never earned the respect of a great chess player as
Dave (Schliemann), Gilbert (Sintubin) nor NightmareNJ. I for one
respect these guys because they respect me. I plan and enjoy playing
here. Some folks I defeat in a game, many I lose to. I respect them.
If I offend sometimes I apologize. A great leader is respected and
xeno never earned my respect. He insulted and ridiculed us less
tallented. Last word I will write about xeno.

The respect is mutual, John. And that holds for all players I have played here on RHP and who are still active. Let's not focus on the
exceptions, they eliminate themselves over time and have done that so far.
About rankings and ratings. It is good to have a rating system, to have an idea of what to expect from your opponent in terms of strength.
But I sure wish there was less attention paid to it in terms of numbers and places. When two equally strong players play, and one loses, is
he less good and the other one better after that game? On the contrary, if it was a good battle, you bet they have both learned from it
and got stronger!

Yes, he made a lot of people very angry; i was one of them!! You
have to admit though...that, every other day you would see: kick xeno
out...he cheats...he is nasty...whatever!! The fact remains...and if you
had read his posts, you would have known he knew what he was
talking about!! You cant talk about chess like that unless you
understand the game!!
Look, to tell the truth...i just want him to come back so i can play
him!! I have an itch, and i need to scratch it!! He promised me...well,
we agreed on playing two boards...one White, and one Black!! We
were going to play the Dragon; no fancy variations...just the old
classical style!! I wanted private and unrated...but i was willing to
compromise just for the sake of the game!! We had chosen our
weapon!! It was pistols at dawn!!
