@ghost-of-a-duke saidDoes someone who identifies as a transformer take out life insurance or truck insurance?
I think it's when they can change at will into a truck.
...But that might be a Transformer.
@suzianne saidKids are lucky today. If there were more people to tell me what to think when I was a college student I could still be working to pay off my student loan.
And apparently, you can't learn anything either, regardless how many times you're told.
I'm getting too old for this. Every stinking day asking customers "Would you like fries with that?" If they WANTED fries they would SAY so! 🧐
@the-gravedigger saidNot sure. I've sent a memo to Optimus Prime.

@the-gravedigger saidlol 😀 good point..people should call their insurance agents..

@kilroy70 saidThe wise college student learns how to think, not what to think.

@suzianne saidThat used to be true, but there is no reason to wait until college before learning how to think.
The wise college student learns how to think, not what to think.
Today the wise college student keeps his head down, and doesn't tell everyone what he truly thinks. Wisdom teaches the futility of poking at a bees nest, or trying to reason with people who vehemently react to those who don't agree with them.
@kilroy70 saidYou're talking about the folk who infest our Debates Forum, aren't you?

@kewpie saidNo, but now that you mention it I can see how it applies to nearly any forum here.
You're talking about the folk who infest our Debates Forum, aren't you?
In fact, it appears most members don't bother to get involved in the public forums... they have better things to do with their time.
It didn't take long after retiring for me to realize I don't have better things to do with my time. The 'kids' are all growed up and have children of their own, and the wife died last year, so the biggest challenge for me has been to find things to do. Free time used to be scarce, but now I have more than I know what to do with it.
@the-gravedigger saidWomen's Studies - is even better 🙂
Go into $80k of debt getting a degree in Gender Studies.
Wait for FB and Google to come knocking at your door.
You may be waiting for some time.
And I have no idea how those programs survive, but they do. Sociology is another. Gad
I want to post this now while it's still fresh in my mind. About half an hour ago I was flipping through channels on the radio and caught the last part of a local news snippet.
"... anyone identifying themselves as a man or a women will not be welcome at her business."
What just happened here? The business owner is a woman! So does this woman, identified as "her", have grounds for suing the news station and/or the reporter for outing her?
Any thoughts?
