You could get a laptop. Oh course I don't think it will be a very good one at $50-60, it would probably be a clay slab and a sharpened stick. Not real useful for playing chess. I suppose you could do calculations on it but I guess that is why they have pocket calculators. Speaking of pockets, pool is fun but I don't like playing bank the eight ball. My pap makes me play that and I'm not really good at three-rail shots. Shots of Old Grand Dad will get you drunk and cheap like the cheeping of birds in the morning. What do they have to be so cheerful about? They're birds. This guy gave me the bird once and it made me rather irate. I rated this movie I saw 10 out of 10, that movie being Boogie Nights (greatest movie EVER). Oh course disco sucks but you can't help that. Now where was I, oh yeah, stay out of my stash.

If you have in a nearby big mall a store called 'Electronic Boutique'
they usually have some handhelds, they are getting pretty good, get one with an LCD screen, you won't lose pieces that way. They are cheap too. Some of the big malls have game stores too.

The last time I bought a travel set for a rating of about 2200 the cost was slightly over 100 quid which is about $200 at today's exchange.

You might be lucky and find one a bit cheaper and a bit weaker. Some of the cheaper sets don't have a rating on them so as reader would warn: caveat emptor!

There are some around 2000 or so, but if you get the ones with pieces, first time it tips over, goodbye pieces and they you start using matches to hit the switches. The downside of those rigs is at the upper strength it gets that strength from taking a long time to make moves. They don't have GHZ processors, so it takes awhile to make moves at that level.

Yeah that's a good buy especially at that price!

They must have come down due to the ready availability of PC software.
