A month or so ago I saw a great movie about a guy who was a professional card player in Las Vegas. This guy was one of the most famous players in the 80's I believe and he died in a Vegas hotel room due to poor health caused by substance abuse. The story was told in flashbacks. I really liked it and would like to find it again.
Has anybody seen and remember this one? A little help please.

Wasn't the angel the same guy he had the altercation with on the sidewalk in front of his house? And the guy swore he would get back at him some day?

If you liked that movie, you should also watch Owning Mahowny starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. It's a true story set in the early '80s about a Canadian banker who de-frauded millions of dollars from his bank to fuel his outrageous gambling addiction. An amazing movie with inspring and gripping performances.

Originally posted by Frank BurnsI cant seem to remember, I was in and out of the room when it played, I do recall this guy actually lived and it was loosely based on his life. I got a great idea for a flick, Frank. How about "Red Hot Pawn, The Movie"? Think its got blockbuster potential?🙂
