Mike Oldfield.

Was it an early 70's revelation that changed music, or a load of rubbish from a guy who had the ability to play lots of instruments?

It certainly made him insane.

It certainly set Richard Branson up to become a billionaire (in pounds sterling).

Thoughts from the seventies please.

Got the album...."loved" it, like "Switched on Bach" from the late 60's.

Nice adage of Floyd there wormwood.

I always found it soothing and a rapturuous build up.

I found Hergest Ridge a lot more developed and on a par, if not surpassing.

I don't know if it affeted music of the seventies, to this day?

didn't, it was the watered down version of what had been done already in the 60s. I guess that's also why it sold so well.

I knew a girl with an angora sweater (tight fitting) who was great at shiatsu. Her last name was Kovitch, coincidentally.

I think the movie "The Exorcist' helped popularize the sound, got it out there. I think it was a ground breaking album, much like Kraftwerk's stuff.
