For weeks, now, my girlfriend has been getting excited about my traditional Italian-style roast turkey for Christmas dinner. Tonight, we watched a TV programme about free-range turkeys and how they are killed. Although very quick, the poor turkeys did let out a plaintive 'cheep' upon being stunned. Slightly disturbing, but not enough to put me off.

BUT!!! - now, my girlfriend wants a nut roast for Christmas dinner.

Mixed, chopped nuts, bound together with butter and eggs and a few other things, made a bit herby, seasoned and sprinkled with breadcrumbs then roasted.

I wouldn't feed that to my dog. You'd be better off packing it up your... well, lets just say, it'll be the same consistency either way.

Now hang on a moment! The TV programme was about FREE RANGE turkeys, free to roam in woods etc, and killed humanely.
