Only if you have patience - some people will just retweet complete rubbish and it can be annoying.

I'm on Facebook for friends and Linked-In for professional connections; I don't think I need to update my life minute-by-minute. Everyone seems to be talking about 'Tweeting' so I just wondered if I was missing out.

This is true, they are just acquaintances. In fact I went through the list and booted about 50 of them.
