So this year "Twixmas" runs an extra 2 days, from 24 December to 2 January (10 straight days off work for most people). Some workplaces open for the 3 possible workdays (Wednesday to Friday) but most people take those days off, since it's summer here. 🙂
I seem to remember the two days fell on a Tuesday in 2012 and this resulted in a lot of people here [office worker types, mainly] setting off the previous Friday [21st] and not returning to work until Wednesday 2nd or Thursday 3rd, or even Monday 7th.
