maybe one of you is a doctor or knows what he 's talking about or something.
Now here'sthe story. In our free periods on monday and thursday, my friend and I go play squash, and we usually get there by bike. Now today we were gonna do this too. A part of the way involves either going left, then right, or going straight and then left. My friend kinda swerved left, but then straightened her bike out, so I thought we'd be going straight. Turns out she just wanted a bigger curve, so to make a long story short - we crashed, and obviously I fell. Now I kinda skinned my knee and part of my little finger, but that's no biggie. The pat that reall sucks is that my right arm hurts now, one week before the big european pepsi cola youth bowling championships. Obviously, my bowling arm.
So the question I'm askig myself is whether I should go see a doctor or not. I know common sense says yes, but... it's raining outside and I need to study for exams.
See, my arm doesn't hurt like it's broken, more like there's something wrong with either a muscle or a tendon. There's this pain like you were straining a jammed muscle as soon as I lift my arm straight up to about shoulder level, and I can't carry anything heavier than, say, 2 kilos with that arm.
What do you think? Will it pass or should I go see a doctor?
Thanks,
Angie

PS: Typing is uncomfortable too :'(

sounds like you've sprained it to me. see a doctor to make sure, but if you have, you wont be lifting heavy weights for a while.

Ouch! That does not sound happy!

I would think that going to the doctor would be the best thing to do, if you wanted to ensure your ability to bowl in a week. A doctor might not be able to do much for you to speed up the healing process, but it's worth a try.

Either that, or take some anti-inflamatory painkillers and use some Icy-Hot (or something similar).

Hope your arm feels better!

i'd recommend that you leave it for a couple of days and then if it still hurts see the doctor. You've most likely just strained it. A similar thing happened to me before my dart tournament. Try not to put to much pressure on the arm at the moment.

I guess I'd normally wait a little to see if it gets better by itself, but since you have that bowling event coming up, you'd probably better go and see a doctor as soon as possible.

For me, the solution is simple. Since I don't actually exist, I usually just cut off my arm when that happens, and then have it regrown using my mindpower. You should try it. Quite therapeutic.

I recommend Deep Heat. Rub some on it and leave it work its magic.

Alternatively, soak your arm in a bucket of pepsi till the championship. By then you will be all coke absorbed and won't feel your arm as it snaps and roll with the ball..

Or maybe you should just try the Deep Heat rub. Doctors will tell you not to cause any unnecessary strain on your arm, and you will feel guilty while bowling and lose concentration. You will do so very badly at the game that you feel like squashing you friend several times with the bike.

This sounds like something that happened to me when I fell with my bike, falling with my ribs on my arm, years ago. It was strained. For about two or three weeks I could hardly use my arm. Felt it for months after that. I say, don't expect to be bowling next few weeks.

oh, great news... I'd just decided to go see a doctor when my dad told me that doctors are on strike today, so I'll have to wait til the morning either way. I'm just waiting for my mom to call from her business trip so she can tell me which of the stuff we have here can be used.
Oh, and my neighbor is an orthopedist (sp?), I'll go over and see him later tonight, maybe he can help me.

🙁
Thanks for the advice though!

If I'm reading this right, it hurts when you lift your arm to eye level correct? This sounds like a shoulder injury. If it hurts bad enough to hinder everyday activities, go see a doctor.

Have you seen your lawyer to start legal action against your friend who caused your accident due to their selfish and stupid action of taking an extra large curve?

😉

*joking but it would happen in America*

rec for rhp's best long-distance doctor.
it' severely sprained, doctor said it would hurt for about 6 weeks and be unbelievably painful the next 2 or 3 days. No bowling, no sports... *sigh* ah well 😕
