UK Royal Family reformation

General

Prince Andrew is now just “Andrew”. But why and who effectively did it? Imo it was Prince William the heir to the throne. Clearly Will loathes his uncle Andy because Will knows it all. I think William will be a big reformer of the Monarchy, and I think it is needed and will be welcomed.

I agree, to survive, the monarchies in our countries must recognize the awareness of necessary adjustment. Prince William is the way forward and I hope that the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria is too. Monarchies should represent stability and they mostly do.

When Queen Elizabeth finally, at the extremely crucial moment, left the protocol and accepted the demands of her people to have the flags at half-mast for Diana, it was impressive. It wasn't an easy decision for a woman of her upbringing and responsibilities.

England is a country with strong traditions, they work for or against. William and Kate live in the real world.

God save the King.

The Andrew formerly known as Prince๐Ÿคฃ

@Wycombe-Al

a smaller monarchy ( with a lot less public appearnances ) would do well for the UK.

Kate and William are really quite fine as a royal couple.

a fewer public appearances with a small monarchy cast would bring back the "mystery/majesty" of the family .

Certainly not Torun. I’ve started a few posts here but the truth is I struggle with the right words to express my feelings on Andrew. I feel sorry for his daughters whose lives he has destroyed. They were only 3 and 4 years younger than the now tragically deceased Virginia Guiffre ๐Ÿ’, at the time when she was 17.

Second siblings to the heir to the throne do not cope well. We saw it with Princess Margaret, it’s ongoing with Prince Harry and now the full shameful truth about Andrew is coming to light. He will now grow old and hide from public view behind the chintz in Sandringham ‘cathedral’. I fear the Royal Family are on a downward spiral.

The second siblings as you say seem to feel they have no responsibilities, no obligations, no expectations - too much freedom, too much money, no goal. What did he think would save him?

Edit: it's an interesting topic, especially maybe if you live in a monarchy - we hardly ever hear of people who are against it.

In spite of a “privileged” life, Royals too have their “foibles”.

Torunn. The press are all over this.
Lichfield.
The Reblican was there.
He voiced his views.
Did it have any effect on the King's decision?
They say no,because all this was already [n place.
With your first point I must agree. He demonstrated he was a loose canon.
But what he did needed loose morals too.
You can still be the second and live a giving life.
But he could see the future.
As soon as his older Brother was gifted with a child he saw his slide move from the top of the Helter Skelter to the bottom.
So he used his privilege
He decided to use His entitlement,
He could have used it in any number of ways.
He could have served as a Senior Royal as the Queen's Son who accumulated war medals and lived the rest of his life in the 30 home mansion.
It appears he wanted more.

I don't know enough to contribute here. I did not know that Andrew was William's uncle.
I thought they were brothers. ๐Ÿ˜• I'll be in my office.
