www.flickr.com won't load for me (yesterday at home and tonight at home). It was loading a couple of days ago and loaded earlier today at work. All other web sites that I've visited this evening are fine. I'm guessing that if you tried to get to www.flickr.com then it'll work. Would be particularly interested if there's anyone here using Pipex ADSL (UK), in case it's something all complex like DNS refreshing bla bla bla.

Any ideas why I can't reach that particular site?

Try going to DrTCP could be something wrong with MTU's, they will run a test for you.

Netscape browser OK, Firefox OK, Opera OK. ADSL but not Pipex.

I think something similar to what you're suggesting is said here:
http://www.pipexsupport.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=2587

I followed the instructions and these were the results:
http://www.netmonitor.org/tools/siteupresults.php?site=www.flickr.com

and the MTU malarkey:
http://ttester.broadbandreports.com/tweak/block:5289955?service=dsl&speed=512&os=winXP&via=normal

It does say Notes and Recommendations: Change MTU to 1500, but it also says "Good data stream" and "Looking good".

I'd like to think the latter is more to do with dashing looks and debonair manners but I'm assuming it's referring to my connection.

Would you recommend changing the MTU to 1500? (Have no idea what this does).

Thanks for checking.

As a side note I can't reach the site using FF nor IE.

You shouldn't be using IE for ANYTHING.

I figured I should so as to discount whether or not FF is the problem.

I changed my MTU's to 1500 and it worked just fine, as i had a similar problem to you not getting some sites. you will have to reboot after doing this. It is for something to do with your internet connection not being able to pick up certain things, how i do not know but it did work for me.

I see this a lot here. What is wrong with Internet Explorer?
