I don't know whether Indonesia Phil agrees, but further to a bit of a discussion recently about driving on Indonesian roads, I think British drivers have to "unlearn" the 'highway code' they use when driving here for their own safety and for the safety of others.

There are certain countries who have a system to help some of their "naughty" citizens unlearn, right?

I used to think that, but then I went to this camp where I learned it was all wrongthink and now I am happy.

So it does work then. I was once offered a stay at a similar "camp", but lasted only 3 days at which point they thought it better to just stamp "persona non grata" in my passport and escort me out of the country.

Unlearning is an effective tool for successful parenting.

The staff of Pontins holidays will have to unlearn their policies now, after years of discrimination against irish people.

They have acknowledged this behaviour and have entered into a 12 month bond with the human rights people not to discriminate in such a manner ever again.

It has been my experience in a lot of ways the children teach the parents. There is no guide book you can really follow. Lots of people have tried but unsuccessfully in my humble opinion.

Agreed.

There is no word childing - but we invented a word parenting, as if it is a verb.

I lived and was brought up in the country stees, everyday was camp day! 😉

Perhaps ask if I could survive in the woods by myself at age 11 or 12? 😉
