I've been buying stuff on eBay lately, which means I've been receiving stuff by mail. I don't mind waiting for my items provided they actually get delivered to my apartment. Isn't that what I paid all those fees for in the first place? Service?
So yesterday I find out my electric piano was sitting in a UPS depot in a small suburb bordering on Toronto, not far from my house, and that it had been there for days. Why? Because the driver kept trying to deliver it to my building during work hours on a weekday, and refused to leave the package because of a C.O.D. charge. Funny thing was, there were no delivery notices to be found. After calling UPS and receiving smooth sureties from the siren on the other end, I decided to pick the damn thing up myself.
I raced home from work, jumped into my car, and prepared myself to battle the rush hour traffic. Eventually I make my way to the UPS depot, where the retarded (literally, I think) security guard ushers me into the line. There were at least 20 people there, all waiting for packages to be found. One poor lady had driven an hour to get there and had waited for over 2 hours before being told her package wasn't at that location at all. To make matters worse, this was the 3rd time they'd screwed her over on this package. She started crying. However, she showed remarkable restraint in not yelling at the hapless idiots behind the desk. I would have knifed them in the eyes. Many stories were the same. It was like the Les Miserables of mail delivery.
I finally made it to the front of the line and requested my package. After a half-hour wait, they told me it was still on a truck but would be back at the depot by 7:30. I decided to head to the music store and get something to eat to pass the time. When I got, there were now at least 25 people in line, all waiting for packages. The worst part was, the staff kept disappearing into the adjacent room without providing one iota of assurance or explanation, but you could still hear them chatting to each other about the trials and tribulations of their crappy lives. They just couldn't bear to stare all the human sadness in the face, I guess...bastards.
Finally, after waiting almost an hour and a half, my package makes its way out of the shipping hold and onto the desk with a "have yourself a great day!", and I carried it to my car while trying to resist the urge to run back in and vomit into the cashier's mouth.
In conclusion, I'd rather get penetrated by a dead salmon than have UPS ever deliver one of my packages again. I'm going to spend the rest of the day making UPS effigies out of plasticine, smashing them Mr. Bill style, and masturbating while crying.
Thanks UPS!!!

Should I immolate them in my dreams too, or are they the opposite of UPS (i.e. a delivery service)?
DHL is a non-US reliable, non-Exon related, and reliable business and personal delivery service. Crucifixion is not necessary with DHL. Try it!

Why not? I've never been disappointed with either the quality or the timing on any online purchase except for this one. The fault is entirely with UPS.
Originally posted by Great Big SteesConsidering the amount of mail that UPS handles properly, and the amount of mail that the US Postal Service handles properly, UPS's "handled properly" to "f#^&*d up" ratio is a little low.

Originally posted by PBE6Then perhaps when next buying online you check to see by which means the purchase is being shipped and act accordingly. As for the "handled properly" to "f#^&*d up" ratio, there probably skewed to make the Postal Service look good...remember it's a government agency.

The fact that the US Postal Service doesn't f@#$ things up very often probably has something to do with the fact that they've been around since July 26, 1775. The fact that UPS does f@#$ things up has to do with the fact that their staff is underpaid, overworked, uncaring, and have no visible signs of customer service training.
Now shut it. ðŸ˜
