I think you are right, because I didn't get that "there's something wrong somewhere at the top right" feeling right after the site was back, and now I get it all the time. It's interesting, I couldn't describe what the site looks like if I didn't see it, but I seem to always notice small changes immediately and find them quite irritating until I get used to them. The same happened when the logo was changed.

This new urgent games thing, it needs to be colour coordinated, it is very grey atm, it should be blue or red, or whatever, much like the variation of the site you use.
