Saw a history documentary quite some time ago that described an "invasion" by the Americans of Scotland. Think it may have been during the War of Independence, but not too sure.
Apparently it was only "technically" an invasion, even though the numbers that landed were few, and it was all a bit unofficial.
Have tried to find info on this through Google, and Wikipedia, but can't find a reference to it anywhere. If anyone can help, I'll split the fiver bet I have with my mate! Cheers

Originally posted by RedmikeWe are having a hard time in Iraq because of Dweebs such as yourself and a president who is worried about world opinion. Its more important worrying about panties on the head of a terrorist than the death of a soldier. Turn the soldiers loose on those a-holes and it would be over in a month or two. Ghengis Khan didn't worry about being PC in a war. As for Scotland why would we want it? It rains all the friggin time, the women for the most part are beastly looking that's why you have so many sheep there. Well I must admit that the Scotch make some fine single malt whiskeys so I may have to re-think my position.
If they think they're getting a hard time in Iraq, it would be nothing compared to what they'd get in Scotland.
Have they never heard of Irn Bru? They'd not stand a chance. It just wouldn't be a fair fight.

Originally posted by Favsthat's interesting because the U.S. forcibly annexed the Hawaiian Kingdom and it "technically" was not an "invasion," although they landed a warship worth of armed marines and surrounded the royal palace at congress's suggestion. The irony.

You're kidding, right? 😵😕
EDIT: I await the inevitable "you are a fag" response.

You're probably right about the US losing an attempted invasion of Scotland, as the typical American soldier doesn't like to shoot at someone in a "paisley skirt".....even if she is wearing a beard and carrying battle axe......😀
