vacation flag and timeouts

So you would not allow someone taking a vacation to go into hardcore tournaments.
They would have to plan their vacation around the hardcore tournament. Doesn't sound logical to me. It would be impossible to plan as you wouldn't know how long the hardcore tournament would last just for starters.

No, the vacation flag would just have no effect. The idea of a hardcre tournament is that you paly through the whole game in a limited amount of time. Vacation flags tend to disturb that.

As the rules are now, one can still move while on Vacation. I don't see the problem here?

The Problem is that People assume that Hardcore means just that. Timebank ony: Time is up Person loses.

So the suggetsion was to diable timeout protection for hardcore tournaments.

Let's take a walk down 'memory lane'. I seem to remember that when the vacation time-out protection feature was first introduced at RHP, there was also a provision that the vacation feature would not be honored in any tournaments.

Am I just imagining this or was it true at one time? I also think this policy was clearly stated on the tournament entry page.

Does anyone else remember this?

I'm directing this thread to all the jerks who abuse this feature
the same jerks who drag on a hopelessly lost game
it's within the rules but screw them anyway

I had a mate in one and my opponent suddenly went on a 28 day vacation
It couldn't be helped.

Not to worry though, I should return in a few hundred years.

Tell me, are they the same 'jerks' who try to game the clan system here?

No, probably not, since you're bellyaching about 'these jerks' but you were friends with 'those jerks'.
