I have the same problem. May have 20-30 games in progress. Play
during the odd moments at work. Often lose track of what I was
planning in each game from 1 day to the next. So end up bouncing
from 1450 - 1600 week to week.
I guess if I really cared about my rating or my won/loss ratio; I'd take
on fewer games, play a limited set of openings or play slower. But
that would take the fun away.

My apologies gentlemen. I've had some tricky stuff to sort out. Things
are looking up now though :o)
I haven't been moving in the games between you two and some
others because I wanted to concentrate (and not spoil a very
interesting and enjoyably game with Tony, and Kirk I need to think
about the stuff I write!!) and my head's been elsewhere.
I appreciate the sentiment Kirk, means a lot. You're an absolute hero.

I have a question and maybe there is an easy and obvious answer
that I am missing. Exactly how is MAP calculated? It can't be total
moves as people are not in the order of most moves. And how can
you tell if someone is advancing rapidly? Do you look up the number
of active games? Is there some formula combining most moves with
the number of active games or recent moves. All very confusing to
me. Also this is getting to be important to me as this will likely be the
only top 20 I'll make. Thanks, Kirk
I aske dthis question in Dec 01. Here is answer from the horses
mouth: Sorry Chrismo, Not calling you a horse.

ROUND (moves_made / ((seconds_since_last_move /
seconds_in_a_week) + 1))
If you have just made a move, your activity rating is equal to the total
number of moves you have ever made on the site. If you haven't
moved for a week, your rating will be half of the total number of
moves you have made on the site. And all the variations in between,
before and after the week.
