VH1 vs. MTV and getting old...

Way back in the day, when I was a pre-teenage type of person, I used to watch MTV and like most of what I saw there.

As I got older, I was surprised to find that MTV was playing nothing but total garbage, and VH1 had all of the cool music videos that I loved.

Last night, for the first time in years, I turned on VH1 and discovered that the channel was playing nothing but crap I've never heard of that also sucked. Hard.

Out of four videos that I watched before I couldn't stomach it any longer, I only recognised one of the songs, and it was one that I usually (always) write off as "crap." The other three were that noise that the young folk call music.

So the question is: Am I getting old?

you should just check out the vids you like at the library. mtv and vh-1 will follow the money, and that ain't barry manilow.

Have you come to the realization that all the stuff that you liked on MTV and VH1 "before they started playing crap" was also crap?

Then I'd have to say that you've got a while to go before you're "old".

P.S. No reason to be scared. Evidently it'll be a while before you're even in danger of moving beyond adolesence.
