My band is going to shoot a low (about $2000) budget video for our song "This Night" (http://www.daylightfordeadeyes.com/music/DFD/This%20Night.mp3) as part of a friend's video project for film school. We'll have access to some decent equipment, and a green screen, but we need some ideas. We had 2 so far, one or both of which may be cheesey, so I'd like to steal yours if I can.

the tag, 'lets make this night go on and on' suggests lovers sneaking
away from their respective spouses and having a tryst at a mountain
motel. So they both leave home with excuses and then meet
on bald mountain. They have to make this night go on and on
because they can't get together much.

"I can feel by the way the night's falling, what I'm supposed to do..."
"Get back on this feeling I started..."
"Let's make this night go on and on..."
Suppose you kind of turned that (happy) concept upside down and make it about a raging alcoholic dreaming of booze in the early evening. He starts out the night with good intentions, but falls off the wagon. Like most drunks, as the night turns into more and more of a disaster, he continues to drink heavily, getting kicked out of bars, fights, rejected by girls...etc.
When you watch a video, I think you want a different perspective on the music. I like when I hear a song and it appears to be about one thing, but the video shows it as something completely different. It makes you think and challenges your preconcieved notions about the song.
Anyway, I just sort of like the idea of putting a completely different slant on it.

Here's my idea #2:
Video starts with a shot of an alarm clock going off, then a hand (or hammer) coming down on it to stop it. Then a shot of each of us getting out of bed fully clothed, ready to rock. Next shots, we're in a bar pounding a beer. I only finish half of mine, look at my watch, and smash the glass on the ground. Then we all run out the door, on to the next bar. Next scene, we're in another bar (possibly in different clothes), drinking or dancing or watching girls dance. Then we run out again. Wash, rinse, repeat. Each bar scene would only be something like 10 seconds long, then off to the next one. I guess we'd sprinkle in a few performance shots in too, and maybe us singing while one of us pounds a beer or a shot.
AA, watch out. Are you ready for a triple threat?!?
