2005, started filming in August 2004, with 7 months shooting schedule. So, it's coming out...*counts fingers* soon.

Aside from me, who else thinks this looks cool? Anyone seen the original 1953 film?

Edit - Coming out next summer...so June/July/August (winter here).

The original is pretty good, it does the story justice anyway, and the effects are okay too. This new one by Spielberg looks like it has a chance to be so much more though, which is really rare for remakes. It looks great, so let's just hope they didn't do all that hard work just to make a nifty preview! 😉

Anyone looking forward to the new Willy Wonka remake by Tim Burton? I'm sure it will LOOK amazing, and I'm sure Depp will do a great job, but I doubt Burton will be able to make it as magical as the first one. Burton always kind of slacks when it comes to story and developing his characters the right way, but he could make a half-empty jar of mayo look cool! lol

Tim Burton is a crazy guy, and it will be great. I've seen still shots, and the poster, and already...just...wow.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying though, the VISUALS are stunning, and I have no doubt the movie itself will look like a knock-out, but I don't think Burton will give the story the real emotional depth that the original did. If Burton makes a movie even in the same league as the original, I'll be impressed.
