Good choice, it's easily one of the best free ones available.

Yup, trackers will do that and a whole lot more. You'll be able to see how many visitors you get, how they got to your site, how long they stayed, which pages they looked at, if the people viewing the site have been there before or are new to the site. You'll even be able to see what OS, browser and screen resolution people are using!

All a counter will do is tell you how many times a page has been viewed,
