As some of you may know already, I got married yesterday. For anyone who's interested here are some pictures of the wedding and reception, both of which were held at the Michigan League in Ann Arbor.

The discerning ones among you will note the chess theme to the evening.

Congratulations!

The confectioner clearly wasn't a chess player...

That cake is great indeed. Well, have a happy time. Shouldn't you be gone on a trip by now?

We're not actually leaving for the honeymoon until tomorrow. But then we'll be gone for a week.

I wondered how long it would take someone to pick up on that. 😉

The Chess-Media Paradox: More than 50% of the time, when a chess board appears in a the media, a dark square is in the bottom right.

Note to self: In the very unlikely case I'll get married and want to have a chess cake one day, or if I need a chess cake for some other occasion, I'll have to give the confectioner clear instructions. Or I'll order the cake at a bakery my parents told me about where the baker likes to play chess with the customers.

Congrats!

I'm guessing you're the White King and she's the Black Queen (on the cake). What I am wondering is...who are the other King and Queen?
