Congrats!
I'm guessing you're the White King and she's the Black Queen (on the cake). What I am wondering is...who are the other King and Queen?

As some of you may know already, I got married yesterday. For anyone who's interested here are some pictures of the wedding and reception, both of which were held at the Michigan League in Ann Arbor.
The discerning ones among you will note the chess theme to the evening.

Isn't that Meriadoc Brandybuck a.k.a. Merry from Lord of the Rings? Can't remember him blond...

If you look closely at the window to her right you will see the word "science" in the window. The window to Rob's left has the word "inspiration" in it.
That's why I was surprised. One of the pictures looked like it were in a church, though.

Originally posted by kirksey957"Science", "Inspiration", and if I'm not mistaken, the third window is labeled "The Arts." It is, as you have correctly identified, a secular stained glass window. The Michigan League is one of the student union buildings on the U of M campus. The courtyard, where many of the photos are staged, is where the ceremony was supposed to have taken place, but inclement weather forced us to have it in a much less scenic indoor room. We were able to take some pictures outside after the ceremony.

The ceremony was a civil one (no hostilities), conducted by the honorable S.J.Elden (retired judge). God was not on the guest list and was not mentioned, either directly or indirectly.
The cake (which I designed) was constructed by Ann Arbor's famous Zingerman's Deli. The chess pieces are solid white and dark chocolate, made by local chocolatier, Schakolad. I provided a specific diagram as to how to set up the board, but apparently the proper arrangement of the squares was overlooked (50/50 chance). I also designed and printed all the programs and table cards.
The best man is a youthful 42 years. Somewhere an oil painting of him is aging into decrepitude (a la Dorian Gray).
Photos 12 and 31 are of my parents (both are 63).
I don't know why photo 35 is in there.
