ok, good advice, but... imagine this scenario:
About 10 little 5-year old kids are having a birthday paty. At the bowling alley. On the lanes right next to yours. Not only do they run up their lane as soon as it's their turn, no, they also run up your lane, leaving you without the slightest chance of concentration. So now what do you do? It would probably ...[text shortened]... something... doesn't happen that often 😉
Yay I'm bowling in a tourney 😀

Once you are as good at bowling as I am, you will amaze small children and they will no longer run up on you! They will sit and watch in amazement as you string strike after strike!
Good luck in your tourney, be sure to let us know how you do!

In my situation, there was a cute little boy (probably 2 years old) who kept throwing it directly on the bumper and his ball would land in my lane. This happened twice. In no such way was I upset with the kid. What upset me was the mom just hanging back watching and not helping her child. I was quite visibly irritated and she saw this. She came up to me and say, "I'm sorry but he is only two years old". I replied, "Oh I don't blame him. What's your excuse?" She didn't like that response too much and replied, "Well I'm sorry if I don't know the rules of bowling." My reply, "Okay, without knowing any rules, do you really think it is appropriate to have someone bowl on a lane that somebody else paid for ?"
I have softened up quite a bit since then but I still think it is the parent's responsibility to watch their kid and to be respectful. I recently brought my 1 1/2 old daughter to a bowling party and I was chasing her everywhere to make sure she did not interfere with anyone else. Of course, she got away sometimes and when she did, I would apologize to whoever she disrupted.
Good luck in your tournament 🙂
