And he wrote "but no sooner", if you didn't see post #1. For me as a non-native speaker the inetntion of the sentence is that he will at least wait for 28000 seconds, and then MAY post.

Trivial technicality, GB said I'd be posting sooner, and I had to let him know I would not. I would have sent a PM, but that wouldn't be fair him being on my iggy list.

GB posted that he hoped to see you before Phriday (a hardly concealed joke wirth your name). You could have waited the reamining 1200 s, amounting to 20 minutes to inform him. There has to be something I don't understand...

I don't like to keep people waiting when they question my word. I am a man of my word, and when I say something I stick to my word. I had to let GB know I would not be posting, and like I said I could not send him a pm.
