One day, with our work, everyone will listen to the same thing - whatever it is that I say is good.

It's worked for me. I have started my Belle & Sebastian and Wilco collections, have Animal Collective, Boards of Canada and Battles on my 'to get' list, and am looking out for Of Montreal at used CD stores.

I didn't mean for that to read like an infomercial script, by the way.

Unless you're the Asian Ron Popeil?! Or are you just a musical Mao?
I'm proud of you - except for Boards of Canada. They should be renamed Boring as Canada.

Noted.

Edit: Out of curiosity, which do you like better: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot or Sky Blue Sky?

I've listened to YHF about a million times and I still love it. SBS is also excellent but I have probably only heard the entire album once so I can't really say. I'll probably get into it at a later time in life. 'Side with the Seeds' from SBS is a five star song that comes up a lot on my iPod.

Nels Cline is a guitar god.

I can't be bothered to even listen to radio or MTV. I do all my searching and researching on the internet. Granted, I'm far from the only one like this - but I just can't stand to see what is being mass-produced these days in an attempt to keep profits up.

Anytime a conversation about music comes up with my twenty, thirty-something friends I will avoid it like the plague lest I say something that makes me look pretentious (this is not easy.)

I haven't really been able to get into SBS yet. I've played it once or twice, but it hasn't stuck yet. YHF is one of my favorite albums. Just put it in and kept playing it. 'Heavy Metal Drummer' and 'Jesus Etc.' get a lot of plays these days.

One of my better finds for $6.

Long Hair/Over left eye
Black Tight pants
Black loose shirt
Pierced Nose (Or mouth) (I have neither, but I am close enough)

I hate to think of myself as "square" but what exactly is EMO?
It's music for people who talk about killing themselves all the time but never do

No, most emo do that, but not all, emo music usually contains screaming, like your on cocaine.
