The title should've said "What about the 15 yr-old who stabbed his mother 111 times?"
I read in the newspaper today that 100 of the stab wounds were IN HER EYES! :'(

Keep in mind that his mother was a professional councilor, but she had no idea of the hate her son must have felt for her. What's wrong with our society that breeds this kind of animal!? πŸ™

Animal?

I haven't heard of this story, but the lad seems very disturbed.
Probably you should find out his motivations before judging him so harshly.

Most people who go into that sort of over-kill are not driven by hatred, but are psychotic at the time. So, say this young man is an undiagnosed schitzophrenic having an episode?

No. That doesn't make the stabbing any less horrendous, but it does mean it wasn't his fault.

"Professional councilor" can mean a lot of things. It does not mean, however, that the mother may have noticed anything about her private life. A lot of the best observers of others are crap at observing their own behaviour.

So, to sum up what I'm saying: To judge the story so harshly by the information you provided is quite pointless.

who's fault would it be? Regardless of his mental issues it is HIS fault. Sometimes mentally challenged issues do not pronounce themselves until it is to late however, that is what rehabilitation is for.

It would be nobody's fault.
Somebody doesn't choose for a psychotic episode. They don't wake up on a morning and pray for one. They don't buy one in a supermarket.

Somethings just can't be blamed on a person. Somethings just are. Even if they're not good.

Another example of the media deciding what is important in an issue and telling us what to think and believe.

Good on you Shav for taking what you hear with a grain of salt.

Now everyone is going to have a warped sense of the issue- she was a councillor and didn't even know what was going on in her son's life...yeah, and that's the WHOLE story.

every society has such people - our society is far from perfect, but i don't think that it breeds phycopathic murderers...
