yeah I think he's the one, I'd love to meet him one day 😉
as to my other suggestion... mark knopfler is the dire strait's frontman and this is his... third or fourth solo cd. I only have a demo-download version though... it's kinda slow, but I figured you might like it. I have his first solo album and I can mail you a song if you want to listen to the style 😀
*hugs* Angie 😉
some more suggestions:
-Adam Green (sooo darn funny... country style with absolutely senseless lyrics, but it's fun easy-listening)
-Anouk: Urban Solitude (Dunno how to describe this... but I really love it.)
-Garbage (just plain punk rock)
-John Mellencamp (only if you like a mix of country and rock...)
-Manic Street Preachers: This is my Truth, tell me yours (Dunno how to describe this either... rather slow music. Has some good songs, but not one of my faves, except for one song)
-The Presidents Of The United States Of America: II (hihihi... I just love this cd. Punk rock mixed with old-fashioned rock-you gotta hear it to see what I mean)
-Wyclef Jean: Welcome to Haiti-Creole 101 (Reggae, but it's pretty good imho)
-just about anything by Alanis Morissette, but not many people seem to like her music (except for the new cd, which I don't like that much)
Well yeah, these are my suggestions... tell me if you want a pre-listening track for any of these 😉

Incidentally RC, you'll be glad to hear 'The Queen is Dead' is in my shopping basket already.
Other items I have added (if you're interested) are:
Fado Curvo - Mariza
Waltz of a Ghetto Fly - Amp Fiddler
Smile - Brian Wilson
What I believe - Bertrand Russel
If the title is any indication, I may have to look into this Amp Fiddler business...
