Hokey cokey, this month, I am looking for a 'classic' album for my collection. An album that should be an absolute pre-requisite for any collection, something that you can always return to. It should be by a group/artist who is past the prime of his career or has ceased to make music for whatever reason, I don't want an album by any group who have been popular in the last 10 years or so, we're talking classic here. Any styles considered so get with the suggestions and make sure your explain why, I won't consider albums that aren't backed up with reasons. Rec to the winner.

Metallica have ceased to make music and haven't been popular in the last 10 years or so. You should get Master of Puppets.

Come on man, as if I wouldn't own that already... And 'Thread killed' isn't a reason...

You want reasons too?

Check out these great lyrics from track 1, Battery:

Lashing out the action, returning the reaction
Weak are ripped and torn away!
Hypnotizing power, crushing all that cower
Battery is here to stay!

Smashing through the boundaries
lunacy has found me
cannot stop the Battery!
Pounding out aggression
turns into obsession
cannot kill the Battery!
Cannot kill the family
Battery is found in me!
Battery!
Battery!

Jean Michelle Jarre - Oxygen

First artist worked with Synthesizers in that time. You could listen to any of his albums. Have recently brought up a new album which is the first album completely recorded in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound.

I use to listen to this in our planetarium in surround sound with cool graphics in the sky.

Something to relax every day.

I don't think Starrman has LSD on his scrambled eggs everyday.

Circle of Destruction, Hammer comes crushing
Powerhouse of energy!
Whipping up a fury, Dominating flurry
We create the Battery!

Well Siouxie hasn`t t produced music in ages...
Pixies not so much either...

They both are fantastic bands with some of the most well known songs including debaser, monkey gone to heaven, gigantic, wave of mutilation, passenger, peek-a-boo, cities of dust. Both bands would be considered classics of 1980-1995 era and they bring back a lot of good memories for me and i`m sure others.

And I never get tired of listening to either album... music for all moods...
