Wow...you mean, the odds of someone getting the same number for both their rating and position at the same time, AND actually discovering it? I'd say, pretty microscopic.

Actually it happened to me too, but I just thought it was mildly synchronistic and dismissed it shortly thereafter. Maybe not so uncommon afterall.

With the current number of active players and the distribution of ratings the odds of one player having same position and rating are rather close to 1-1.

However with the quick change of positions in the middle group you have to be obsevant to notice it if it should happen to you.
