I've been a mostly Irish man for the past couple of years, but both those are awesome.
I'm just happy to have a bottle of 1920 Brandy around. Warms the heart.
I've had a couple of Lagavulins this evening and all of a sudden I'm down to 2 and a half bottles 😵

Wit = White = blanche
Whitebeer, witbier and Weissbier are wheat beers.
It is a very nice sweetish beer. They also produce the more stronger double and triple type beers sold under the name "mared sous" ... delicious!
Beg to differ. Take this as you will from someone who is not a fan of whitebeer generally, but IMO Hoegaarden is one of the more middle-of-the-road offerings in the style. The same is true of Maredsous: not bad, certainly not bad, but there are many better. Try an Achel!

My cupboard currently contains Laphroaig, Jameson (for a change), Cognac of some brand or other, Bombay Sapphire gin (I think I prefer Tanqueray, but Sapphire isn't bad), the end of a bottle of rum, ditto slivovice, two demis of white wine and two of red (I don't drink a lot of wine unless it goes into the food as well), three bottles of assorted winter beers, a Hopus, an Achel Bruin, tonic and Angostura to go with the gin, and of course almost two dozen different teas. And that's not counting the stuff I only have to cook with, such as the kirsch.
