I used to get leg cramps quite a bit in my sleep. A doctor recommended a mineral supplement . It had magnesium, potassium and alot of other junk. He also recommeded I drink alot more water. I don't like water myself, so I drink Gatoraide alot. I have alot less leg cramps now, and I don't take the supplements anymore. I think it was dehydration that caused it in me.
I used to have cramp quite a lot, particularly in the morning. I have increased the salt in my diet and now avoid bananas as they increase potassium and decrease sodium. That helps.
But there are other cures. Try either wearing cotton socks at night or putting a pillow under your feet when you are asleep.
