throughout my life i've gotten spells where i would get cramp in my right leg, tonight being one of them, although i had cramp in both a while awhile - that hurt.
anyway, why? i'm quite fit, i have pulled my hamstring a couple of times before though, but not before i started getting cramps.

...There are five basic causes of cramping: hyperflexion; inadequate oxygenation; exposure to large changes in temperature; dehydration; or low blood salt.

Originally posted by WAITAMINIt could be a magnesium deficiency. I sometimes get those spells, too, and taking a magnesium supplement usually helps.

Originally posted by WAITAMINYikes, I have never had one that lasted so long! Usually they don't last more than a few minutes (although they may come back very soon). I don't understand why a cramp in the foot causes you pain in the ass, though. 😉

Maybe you should google it.
Who needs doctors when you've got google?
😀
I used to get leg cramps quite a bit in my sleep. A doctor recommended a mineral supplement . It had magnesium, potassium and alot of other junk. He also recommeded I drink alot more water. I don't like water myself, so I drink Gatoraide alot. I have alot less leg cramps now, and I don't take the supplements anymore. I think it was dehydration that caused it in me.
